2iny Agent Builder — Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 25, 2026
This policy explains what the 2iny Agent Builder browser extension (“the extension”) collects, how it is used, and what stays on your computer. The extension is made by 2iny (https://www.2iny.ai). For the 2iny website and account, see our general terms and privacy information on the site.
What the extension does
The extension records a task you perform in a browser tab, sends that recording to 2iny's servers where an AI model turns it into a reusable agent, and later replays that agent in a browser tab on your request. Recording only happens after you press Start in the extension panel and stops when you press Stop. Replay only happens when you press Run in the extension panel or on the 2iny website.
Data collected while recording
When a recording is active, the extension captures, in the recorded tab only:
- your clicks and key presses, and the on-page element they targeted (its visible label, role, and position);
- the text you type into fields, except sensitive fields (see below);
- the address (URL) and title of the pages you visit in that tab;
- how long you were away from the recorded tab (the duration only, not what you did elsewhere);
- if you enable voice narration, an audio recording from your microphone.
Recording never captures other tabs, other windows, your browsing history, bookmarks, or cookies.
Sensitive fields stay on your computer
Values typed into password fields, card-number, CVV and expiry fields, one-time codes, and fields that look like secrets or tokens are never sent to 2iny. The extension stores them only on your computer, in the extension's local storage, and only if you tick “Save in this browser”. You can delete them at any time with “Forget saved sensitive values for this agent” in the extension panel, or by removing the extension. When an agent that needs such a value runs on a computer where it is not stored, the extension asks you to enter it.
Data sent to 2iny
- The recording described above (with sensitive values removed) is sent to 2iny's servers and stored with your account so the agent can be created, edited, run and, if you choose, shared.
- During replay, the extension reports each step's outcome (success or failure, and the reason) so you can review the run.
- If a page element cannot be found during replay, the extension sends a description of the visible page (text, structure and candidate elements, with sensitive values masked) to 2iny so an AI model can decide which element to use.
- If you use voice narration or “create agent from voice”, the audio is sent to 2iny for transcription. The audio is not stored; only the resulting text is kept with your agent.
- Your 2iny session token, read from the 2iny website when you are signed in, so that requests are made on behalf of your account. It is kept in the extension's session storage and cleared when the browser closes.
AI processing
2iny uses OpenAI's API to compile recordings into agents, transcribe audio, and resolve page elements during replay. Data sent for these purposes is processed under OpenAI's API data-usage terms and is not used by OpenAI to train its models.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your data.
- We do not use it for advertising.
- We do not collect your browsing history or activity outside an active recording or replay.
- We do not collect data from your computer beyond what is described here.
Storage and retention
Recordings, agents and run reports are stored on 2iny's servers (hosted on Railway) for as long as your agent exists. Deleting an agent on the 2iny website deletes its recording, steps and run reports. Deleting your 2iny account deletes all of them.
Chrome permissions we ask for and why
- debugger: to capture your actions in the recorded tab and to replay agents with real input. Chrome shows a “started debugging this browser” bar while this is active.
- sidePanel: the extension's interface is a Chrome side panel.
- storage: to keep an in-progress recording, run state, your consent, and sensitive values you chose to save locally.
- offscreen: to capture microphone audio for voice features.
- scripting and access to 2iny.ai: to connect the extension with your signed-in 2iny session and let the website open the recorder or start an agent.
- Access to 2iny's backend: the only server the extension communicates with.
Limited Use
The extension's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that affects what the extension collects, the extension will ask for your consent again before you can continue using it.
